All-optical switching and amplification of discrete vector solitons in nonlinear cubic birefringent waveguide arrays

摘要

We study all-optical switching based on the dynamical properties of discretevector solitons in waveguide arrays. We employ the concept of the polarizationmode instability and demonstrate simultaneous switching and amplification of aweak signal by a strong pump of the other polarization.
